Seven Apologists Every Christian Should Know

The chapters below were originally published as an 8-part article series for Higher Things Magazine. Rev. Mark A. Pierson, who has an affinity for apologetics, approached us with the unique idea of addressing a variety of topics in apologetics while also familiarizing readers with some of the big names in the field. We gladly accepted his offer and published his articles from 2014-2017.

Within each chapter, Rev. Pierson provides the background of a specific apologist, methodically demonstrates that apologist’s emphasis, and gives you ways to employ those unique perspectives into your own apologetics efforts. He does this with the understanding that no single scholar is above reproach, nor does any one person have all the answers.

Rev. Pierson also includes a number of reading recommendations that will be enormously helpful as you endeavor to defend the Christian faith in your own life and reach others with the Gospel. He concludes this series with a clear explanation of how apologetics is always to be in the service of evangelism, recognizing it is only through the work of the Holy Spirit that anyone is brought into faith.
